“The resolve of this team has been impressive,” shared head coach Brendan McCann. “They don't give up and they show up to play every night and work. Even last night, they had to overcome one goal deficits twice before we were finally able to get a lead late in the third on Jake Figueroa’s goal (Assist: Andrew Wenzell).“Team defense has improved and Ryan Mosscrop in net has done a great job keeping us in games. Especially last night, he helped us get out of the first period at 0-0 despite being outshot 11-4” said McCann. Records: Crusaders (4-8-1), Panthers (7-4-3).

In an exciting, well played defensive game, GD trailed early, but eventually took a 27-21 advantage into the half. Algonquin came out in the third on a 14-4 tear, leading 35-31 before the fans got back into their seats. GD regrouped, got a key 3 pointer from Riley Curran (7 pts.) finally regaining the lead. The Crusaders led 46-39 with 4:26 remaining, kept the pedal to the floor, made their foul shots, outscored Algonquin 13-7 the rest of the way and that was that. Eight players scored for GD led by Joseph O’Malley’s 18 points, Kyle Plausse (15 pts.) and Tim Stark (8 pts.). Tomahawks’ Todd Brogna had a game high 24 points. Records: GD (11- 4), ARHS (8-7).
