The Crusaders won 25-16, 25-9, 25-13. Leanne Mueller and Alexa Busser 6 and 7 kills, respectively. Mueller added 10 aces in the second set. Record: 7-3

Kailyn Rekos had seven saves for the Crusaders while Amanda Monfalcone made three saves for the host Panthers (6-0-3, 2-0-2 Midland B). "Kailyn Rekos (GD goalie) made some great stops," She definitely did an excellent job and we just weren't able to poke one in," said Marlborough girls soccer coach Sara Cramer.

"Yes, I am very pleased with the result," Groton-Dunstable coach Steven Naboicheck remarked. "I think that this field favors the home team for sure. It's extremely narrow, it's a greasy day today and they're used to playing on this." Marlborough built a 7-2 advantage in shots in the first half. Groton-Dunstable will host the rematch on October 23.
