TOWN BUDGET NOTES
The Municipal Budget for fiscal 2016 as proposed is $13,245,932 reflecting a 5.3 percent increase.
In reviewing the proposed budget, Chairman Degen said he was concerned with the predicted budget rise in Haddad's five-year forecasts, going from $31M in 2016 to $37.7M by 2021. "This 20% increase in only five years would price some people out of town," he cautioned.
Negotiations with all Groton unions, whose contracts were set to expire at the end of FY2015, resulted in a 2 percent wage adjustment and the impact of this, including 2 percent increase for bylaw employees will cost $169,527, along with an additional $38,033 for performance incentives for a total cost of $209,960.
