Forest Landowner Forum

 

Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) is offering a free "Forest Landowner Forum on MA DCR's Working Forest Initiative" Wed., Feb. 24, 7-8:30 p.m., at NRWA River Resource Center, 592 Main St. (Rt. 119) Groton. Most appropriate for landowners with more than 10 acres of forest in MA.

Guest speaker will be Mike Downey, MA Dept. of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Forest Stewardship Program Coordinator. MA DCR currently has a cost-share reimbursement program available to landowners with more than 10 acres of forest that could provide financial assistance in developing a Forest Stewardship Plan for your property. These cost-share monies are limited and applications are reviewed on first-come basis each fiscal year. Mike will provide details, answer questions.

Workshop: Tracking Predators & Prey: Clues to Winter Wildlife

   

The NRWA is leading a workshop, "Tracking Predators & Prey: Searching for Clues to Winter Wildlife in Our Forests, Fields, and Streams" Sunday, Feb. 28, 1-4 p.m., at Williams Barn, Groton.

NRWA River Classroom Director and wildlife tracker Stacey Chilcoat leads a three hour tracking workshop for adults and children ages 12 and up focusing on three winter habitats and animals that not only survive but thrive during our harshest months. 

Moderate hiking or snowshoeing, mostly off-trail through snow. Dress with multiple layers, winter boots, water resistant outer gear (snow pants or gators), pack water bottle & energy snack.  Fee: $20/person NRWA members, $25/non-members.  Space limited; pre-registration required. Directions to program location provided upon registration.  To pre-register, email Stacey Chilcoat at StaceyC@NashuaRiverWatershed.org

Auction 2016 

Nashua River Watershed Association's (NRWA) fundraising event, Auction 2016! Saturday evening, April 2 at DoubleTree by Hilton in Leominster, and will include dinner, and both silent and live auctions.
