Informal Charter Discussion Group
There will be a meeting Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Public Library in the Community Room to gauge interest in creating an informal group to discuss Groton's existing Charter.
The purpose of the group will be to consider:
1. How well Groton's existing Charter is working, and
2. If changes are needed, establish a philosophical basis for changes.
3. Make suggestions for changes to Charter language.
The ultimate purpose of this discussion group would be to provide a 'well' of ideas of potential changes to the Charter, possibly serving as a resource for the appointed Charter Review Committee to help in their deliberations, should they wish to use it.
