ICONIC Groton Inn Property Changes Hands

On Monday, October 6, a new era in the storied history of the Groton Inn property commenced as ownership of the iconic Main Street property transferred from the Pergantis family to Chris Ferris and Richard Cooper of 128 Main Street LLC, new developers of the site. Mr. Ferris thanked the Pergantis family for moving so quickly on the sale of the property following the death of George Pergantis last month.

Mr. Ferris said his team is very excited about moving ahead with plans for the site and that his team has been working "feverishly" to get to this point. He added that passersby would start to see major activity and changes on the site in the next week. He said his team will be going before the Planning Board Thursday night to go over a few small items.

Soil remediation work will begin next week and should take about one week to complete. Following remediation and probably before the end of the month, the lot will be cleared entirely, including demolition of remaining buildings, and prepped for new construction.
