Ice-Fishing Derby

Townsend Rod and Gun Club is holding an ice-fishing derby Sunday, Jan. 26. It will be held at the club pond at 46 Emery Rd. off Route 13, about 1.5 miles south of Townsend Center. Registration begins at 7 a.m., fishing from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. There is a three-fish limit and the re-up fee is $10.

The kitchen will be open from breakfast through lunch.

The pond will be stocked with rainbow and brown trout and they'll be hungry. Dderby is open to all area adults and children. Fishing licenses are not needed and Townsend Rod and Gun Club membership not required. Fishing bait will not be sold, so be sure to stock up before the derby.
