Groton Preliminary Property Assessments for FY 2017
The Town of Groton has submitted FY2017 property values to the Department of Revenue’s Bureau of Local Assessment for certification. The proposed values are pending preliminary certification and are available for review at the assessor’s office in Town Hall or online at the town website. The FY2017 proposed values are as of January 1, 2016. A statistical analysis of all valid sales transacted during calendar year 2015 was the basis for the revaluation of single family homes and condominiums. A two year period of sales was used for Commercial and Industrial values.
The average single family residential property assessment per the 2015 sales for FY2017 is $462,500, an increase of 7% from the average single family assessment for FY2016.
The public disclosure period will be in effect starting November 28, 2016 ending December 2, 2016. Appeals may be made during this disclosure period. The values can be reviewed at the Assessor’s Office, 173 Main St in Groton, MA. Office hours are Monday 8:00am to 7:00pm, Tuesday-Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am – 1:00 P.M. and a printout will be at the Groton Public Library.
