Community Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Groton Interfaith Council will host the annual Community Tree Lighting ceremony at the Union Congregational Church on Sunday, December 1, at 4 p.m. We will meet inside the church where we will hear music provided by members of the Groton Brass Ensemble and the Nashoba Valley Concert Band and listen to readings by members of the Groton Interfaith Council.
Each year the Groton Interfaith Council honors citizens to be the tree lighters because they have made a significant contribution to the town. This year we are honoring people who helped make the new Groton Center a reality: Kathy Shelp, Director, her staff, Stacey Shephard-Jones and Kathy Santiago, and chair of the COA Board of Directors, Gail Chalmers.
Immediately following the tree lighting, the Union Congregational Church will host a reception with warm drinks and cookies. The event is free and open to the public.
