BOH Lifts Ban on Outdoor Activities

The Board of Health at their Monday, Oct. 15 meeting made the decision to lift the current curtailment on all outdoor activities from 6 p.m. to dawn in light of information received from the Department of Public Health. "According to the National Weather Service, all areas of Massachusetts EXCEPT for Suffolk County and the Cape and Islands experienced a hard frost/hard freeze n Friday night, Oct. 12-13. While individual mosquitoes may have survived in isolated sheltered areas, the risk of mosquito-borne illness should be virtually eliminated at this time in areas where the hard frost occurred."

As follow up to this past season of mosquito-borne diseases, Groton Board of Health will hold an informational meeting Monday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in the second floor meeting room of Town Hall. Purpose of this meeting is to hear an overview of services and discuss options available to Groton from the Central Mass. Mosquito Control Project.
