Thomas Cremins Is First-Place Champion In GeoBee Competition

Thomas Cremins, Will Wang and Alison O'Leary

Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School participates annually in the National Geographic Geography Bee. Students had participated in their Social Studies classrooms earlier in January and 10 semi-finalists participated in the GeoBee on January 28. Students are asked the same questions about states, countries, continents and bodies of water that students in grades four-eight throughout the country are asked.

Will Wang took third place, Alison O’Leary took second place and Thomas Cremins, who finished in second place last year, became first-place champion!  Winners by Grade are:

Grade five: Abby Lam, Alison O’Leary and Jonathon Winn;                                                                                                              Grade six: Olivia Hodgkins, Siduri Bowden and Shaun McNamara;                                                                                                Grade seven: Will Wang and Adrianna Krajewska;                                                                                                                           Grade eight: Tyler Garvey and Thomas Cremins.
