SCHOOLS: Lecture on Translation of Science to Medicine
Groton School Science Dept. invites the public to an illustrated lecture by Justin Fallon, PhD, Brown University Medical School, Dept. of Neuroscience, Tues., May 20, 7:15 pm. in Blackbox Theater, at right/rear of Campbell Performing Arts Center, Farmers Row, Groton. Limited parking available on Shirley Rd.
Dr. Fallon has spent his academic career working to understanding how proteins shape cell differentiation and function. His recent work has focused on a particular a protein called biglycan that plays a key role in maintaining muscle integrity. Working in partnership with a biotechnology company, Fallon is now developing a recombinant version of biglycan as a potential therapeutic for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and ALS.
