Nashoba Tech Reopens Doors

Nashoba Valley Technical High School opened its doors on Sept. 16 to seniors and sophomores in technical programs, while academic teachers taught juniors and freshmen remotely. The school will operate that way, as long as it stays coronavirus-free, with appropriate safety measures taken and administrators reviewing protocols on a daily basis.
The school’s technical programs are up and running, and masked students were already getting technical areas into shape for the school year. Freshmen will continue to rotate through Nashoba Tech’s technical programs before choosing their six top choices.
The guidance staff said many parents conveyed their gratitude with how smoothly — and safely — the first day back was. That followed an equally smoothly run Freshman Orientation the week before welcoming incoming students in the Class of 2024. Freshmen got to tour all 19 technical programs and speak with teachers in those programs. Nashoba Tech had spent the summer redesigning and reconfiguring its indoor space to better teach students in their technical programs while maintaining proper social-distancing protocols.
Students who are in their technical week will attend school in person, while those in academics week will take classes remotely.
Nashoba Tech offers the following technical programs: Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing, Automotive Technology, Biotechnology, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Design & Visual Communication, Early Childhood Education & Care, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, Health Assisting, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Plumbing & Heating, Programming & Web Development, Television & Media Production/Theatre Arts, and Veterinary Assisting.
