Nashoba Tech To Host 46th Gala, Spring Career Night

Turning 45 may not be a cause of celebration for some people, but Nashoba Valley Technical High School is making the most of its 45th birthday - and kicking off the next 45 years in style.

The yearlong celebration, which began with the Class of 2014 commencement ceremony in June 2014, culminates with a gala event Wednesday, May 13, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the school to which the public is invited.

Nashoba Tech opened its doors in September 1969 and is marking 45 years of educational excellence with the gala event, which, in addition to the school's traditional spring Career Night, will include recognition of past graduates, guest speakers, celebrity guests, and tours for district seventh-graders and eighth-graders and their families, as well as for residents of the district who would like to see what the school has to offer.

From 5-5:30, there will be a reception, and at 5:30, Robert Walker will speak in the Performing Arts Center. Walker is a 1982 graduate of Nashoba Tech and a local developer who built Cornerstone Square at Four Corners in Westford, among many other local developments. The principal of Westford-based RA Ventures, Walker has developed more than 40 buildings along Interstate 495 corridor, from Beverly to Falmouth. He has also had a hand in developing much of downtown Devens.

Also in the Performing Arts Center that night, local state representatives and senators will present Nashoba Tech citations for its 45 years of educational excellence.

From 6-7 p.m., the Advisory Board for each technical program will meet in the technical areas.

From 7 to 9 p.m., Open House and Career Night will be held, at which district residents can find out how they can become part of the next 45 years at Nashoba Valley Tech.
