Learning and Fun in D.C.
Each year the eighth grade dedicates a week of touring and educational activities in Washington, DC. Four busloads of Groton-Dunstable Middle School 8th graders who visited DC in early June.
This year’s highlights included a tour of Mount Vernon, a US Army military tattoo at Fort Myer, and a dinner dance to cap off the fun. Touring destinations included the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Memorial, Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Memorial, 9/11 Memorial, Korean Conflict Memorial, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Iwo Jima Marine Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, National Zoo, Smithsonian Museums, Museum of African American History and Culture, Newseum, U.S. Capitol, The White House, and Library of Congress.
