Groton Community School Celebrates Its Longtime Staff

Each year Groton Community School (GCS), 110 Boston Rd., Groton, formally celebrates the career milestones of its staff members. The longevity of current staff ranges from three to thirty-one years, with 71% having reached a ten-year milestone and beyond. With pleasure and awe, Groton Community School would like to thank Lisa Stafford (Assistant Director) and Terri Martin (Full Day Coordinator) for 20 years of service, Inga Nuccio (Preschool Teacher) and Lorrie Morgan (Bookkeeper) for 10 years of service, and Sarah Helfgott (Preschool Teacher) for 5 years of service. Director Linda Kosinski celebrates an incredible 30 years of excellence at the school this year!

According to the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), an organization that promotes high-quality learning for all children and recognizes programs that meet top professional standards, children thrive in programs which offer a high level of consistency and stability -- in other words, low staff turnover. Experienced staff act as mentors and create a positive learning environment. Continuing education for all teaching staff at Groton Community School results in ongoing professional development and sharing of teaching experiences. The dynamic staff at GCS is constantly enhancing what they do while maintaining the school's core principle that young children be met with warmth, excitement, and care. Groton Community School is an environment where staff want to stay, and where children soar.
