Groton Community School to Award Annual Scholarship In Memory of Taylor Benjamin Young
The 2014 application for the Groton Community School Scholarship is now open. Created in 2012, the scholarship is in memory of Taylor Benjamin Young, a beloved student of Groton Community School, who lost his life at age four.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior who is also a past Groton Community School student. The recipient will exemplify the qualities demonstrated by Taylor Young, including curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, a kind and caring nature, and a dedication to thoughtful words and deeds.
"Taylor was a kind, joyful and bright little boy who brought sunshine with him wherever he went and we were fortunate to have him as part of our school," said Linda Kosinski, Director of Groton Community School. "We are proud to offer this scholarship in his honor to a member of the Groton Community School alumni that embodies the character and qualities demonstrated by Taylor."
