GDRHS Graduation Will Be Held This Friday, July 31

Dear Dunstable & Groton Residents,
The GDRHS graduation will be held this Friday, July 31, 2020. The graduation date was delayed until the last day of July by the School Committee to increase the possibility of a ceremony that could have a sliver of tradition.
Our administration has set the venue and the procedure of graduation in a manner that provides social distancing restricted the number of attendees, no speakers and a very brief ceremony that also will not require the handing off of diplomas or the shaking of hands.
Many of our surrounding towns have already had graduations and without an uptick of COVID-19 cases.
The Town of Groton managed to have a peaceful protest with hundreds of individuals attending without the same time to plan for the level of organized, regulated and enforced social distancing that the GDRHS graduation will have.
The Town of Groton has already had a gathering (Groton Town Meeting) with a record turnout of attendees for our Spring 2020 town meeting without an uptick of COVID-19 cases.
The Town of Dunstable is holding its gathering (Dunstable Town Meeting) on July 30, 2020, at Larter Field.
Although this ceremony will be much shorter and with many restrictions, our GDRHS students will receive somewhat of traditional graduation in a safe manner as we have seen through prior gatherings in our community.
On behalf of the GDRSC, I would like to congratulate our GDRHS Class of 2020 and wish them well in their next adventure in life.
Thank You,
Marlena Gilbert
