Alicia Gentile and Russell Byron-Kelly of Groton Selected Athletes of the Month for May at Nashoba Valley Technical High School
Alicia Gentile, daughter of John and Kristian Gentile, is a sophomore who excelled for the spring track team. Alicia qualified for states in 400-meter hurdles, 100-meter high hurdles and javelin, and also competed in ttriple jump. She recorded a personal-best in javelin at state meet. She is also a cheerleader for Nashoba Tech, and has been dancing for 13 years. Alicia is a high-honors student and a member of the National Honor Society. She is president of the sophomore class, a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and plays flute for the school band.
Russell Byron-Kelly, son of Charlene Kelly, is a 2014 graduate who played first base and outfield for baseball for four years and was captain of the volleyball team. He was also a league All-Star last fall for volleyball. He was named a Student of the Month as a sophomore.
