41 Nashoba Tech Seniors Qualify for Adams Scholarship

The maximum number of Nashoba Valley Technical High School seniors have qualified for the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. Forty-one students, representing 25 percent of the senior class, qualified for the award, which provides free undergraduate tuition to state colleges and universities to students who score in the Advanced category in either the Mathematics or English Language Arts section of the 10th-grade MCAS test, and in the Proficient or Advanced category in the other section.

In addition, students must have a combined MCAS score on those two assessments that ranks in the top 25 percent of their school district; be a permanent Massachusetts resident; be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen; enroll in a postsecondary institution full time in the first traditional academic semester after high-school graduation; and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

Following are local seniors who qualified for the scholarship: John Hunt of Dunstable and Russell Byron-Kelly and Stetson Lacombe of Groton.
