Applewild Visits McAuliffe Space Center

Olivia Ray of Groton, a fifth grader at Applewild School in Fitchburg, recently spent a day with her class at the Christa McAuliffe Challenger Space Center, located on the campus of Framingham State University, where McAuliffe was a student. Prior to the trip, students learned what their "job" would be in the simulated "Voyage to Mars" space mission and trained in advance to be members of the following teams: communications and data, remote, probe, life support, isolation and navigation.
