St. Andrew's to Host 18th Annual "In A Manger" Display
Ayer, MA: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Ayer, will host its annual “In A Manger” event on Saturday, December 8, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Sunday, December 9, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Begun in 2001 with 75 manger scenes, this year’s display will feature close to 500 crèches from around the world. Founder Carolyn Smith is committed to providing this opportunity to take a break from the franticness of the season to wonder and marvel at how the birth of Jesus is depicted in different cultures through varied artistic expressions.
Nativity scenes will be set up in St. Andrew’s newly-renovated Parish Hall and in the sanctuary which dates from 1892. This event is free and open to the public. Homemade cookies and apple cider will be available at no charge.
St. Andrew’s is located at 7 Faulkner Street in Ayer and is an open and affirming church. The Sunday Celebration of Holy Communion is at 9:30 am. Child care is available for infants and toddlers beginning at 9:15 am. Sunday School for preschool-aged children and older also starts at 9:15. The Forum is held in the Parish Hall at 11:00 am. All are welcome. For more information, please visit www.standrewsayer.org
