Nashoba Symphonic Band Presents "Holiday Pops at the Mall"

The Nashoba Symphonic Band, under the direction of David W. Bailey, presents its fourth annual Holiday Pops concert at the Solomon Pond Mall on Thursday December 5, 2019 at 7pm. The concert is free and open to the public. The ensemble will be performing in the J.C. Penney lobby and encourages audience members to bring chairs and enjoy musical selections that will put them in a holiday mood. If holiday shopping beckons, that’s fine, too: the music of the 100+ member band will fill the mall!
There will be plenty of seasonal favorites –Leroy Anderson’s classic “Sleigh Ride,” Mel Torme’s “The Christmas Song,” “Greensleeves,” and selections from “The Nutcracker” – along with some equally festive but perhaps less well-known numbers, like Percy Faith’s “Brazilian Sleigh Bells” and Delvyn Case’s “Rocket Sleigh.” Come sing along to “Christmas Festival” and “Hanukkah Festival,” each a medley of traditional songs, as well as selections from “The Sound of Music.”
For many people, the concert has become an eagerly anticipated break from the hustle and bustle that often accompanies the holi- day season. Why not make it one of your holiday traditions, too?
Nashoba Symphonic Band, under the auspices of Nashoba Friends of Music, is an instrumental ensemble of over one hundred musicians of all ages from more than thirty towns in Central Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area. We welcome new members at open rehearsals on the Thursday immediately following each concert. For more information, please go to www. and click on the Nashoba Symphonic Band tab.
