Celebrate the Solstice at Fitchburg Art Museum's Summer Party

Hot days, cool art. Enjoy a fun night out at the Fitchburg Art Museum on the Solstice, Friday, June 21, from 6 to 8 pm at the annual Summer Party! The event is free to the public. Celebrate the opening of three new community-focused exhibitions: The 84th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft, Carrie Crane: Beyond Measure, and Call and Response: A Matter of Perspective. Explore the galleries, meet local artists, enjoy refreshments from Fitchburg’s The Finicky Fork Catering Company, and sip drinks from the cash bar.

The 84th Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft is one of the oldest juried exhibitions in New England. This summer tradition at the Fitchburg Art Museum celebrates the immense talent of artists and crafters of our region.

Also on view will be Carrie Crane: Beyond Measure, the First Prize winner in last summer’s 83rd Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft. The Worcester-based artist will display incredible instruments and graphic displays that seek to know the unknowable by attempting to capture and quantify the elusive. On view in the Community Gallery, Call and Response: A Matter of Perspective will feature ten works from FAM’s permanent collection and ten selected works by ArtsWorcester members inspired by the theme of perspective. Summer exhibitions will remain on view through September 1.

Join the celebration of arts and culture at FAM’s biggest party of the summer! For more information contact Vanessa De Zorzi, Fitchburg Art Museum Marketing Manager at: vdezorzi@fitchburgartmuseum.org.

The Fitchburg Art Museum serves the cities of Fitchburg and Leominster and the surrounding communities in North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. FAM plays a vital role in the cultural life of the region and the Museum maintains active educational partnerships with the local school systems, as well as Fitchburg State University. FAM is an engine for creativity, education, community building and fun!
