Robert (Bob) E. Goudey, Jr.

Robert (Bob) E. Goudey, Jr., age 86, died on December 8th, 2018, at his home in Groton, MA surrounded by his loving family.

Bob is survived by his wife Janet, of Groton, his son Bob and his wife Bebe, of Groton, son Glenn and his wife Heidi, of Middlebury, IN, and son Brian and his wife Candy, of Burnt Hills, NY.  He is also survived by his sister Beverly Johnson of Kennebunk ME and his brother Blair, and his wife Liz, of Arlington, MA.

Bob is survived by 9 grandchildren, Devin Goudey, Katie Morrison and her husband Chris, Shelby and Kelby Goudey, Mike Chrzanowski and his wife Ashley, Amy Grew and her husband Nick, Abby Goudey, and Claire and Andrew Bremer. Bob was very proud of his 3 great grandchildren, Maya and Ben Chrzanowski and Charlie Grew.

Bob was born on April 20, 1932 in Boston, MA to Bob and Ella Goudey. He graduated from Stoneham High School in 1950. He is a Stoneham High Class of 2012 Hall of Fame inductee for his play on the 1950 Middlesex League Championship baseball team. He entered the Air Force in 1952 and was discharged in 1956.

In 1960, Bob and family moved to Stow, MA where he accepted a position as a sheet metal mechanic with Allied Sheet Metal.  He then was employed by All Metal Fabricators in Acton MA where he worked until his retirement in 1997.

Bob was very active in youth sports and was co-founder of Stow Youth Hockey.

He enjoyed camping at Lake Winnipesaukee, golfing at Maynard Country Club, drawing, and following all New England sports teams, especially the UConn Women’s basketball team.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday June 2, 2019 at 2pm at the Union Congregational Church, 220 Main Street, Groton, MA
