OBITUARY: Mary Ann Hanna

Mary Ann Hanna, 79, of Leominster, passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2013. Wife of 26 years of Robert B. Hanna, previously married to Robert P. DiNapoli, Sr. Beloved mother of five children (Mary, Dottie, Robby, Bob Jr, and Rich), two step-children (Kathy and Doug), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She grew up in Riverside and Greenwich, CT, graduating from the Riverside Convent School and the Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford. In 1955, she received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Manhattanville College in New York. For many years, she taught Art Education in the public schools in Groton-Dunstable, where she headed the Art Dept. and was a leader of the Groton High School Art Festival. She taught as well in Oakmont and Ayer public schools.

Following a long and successful teaching career, she completed training in commercial insurance risk management and underwriting and worked for several greater Boston agencies. She retired in 1997 from the Penn Insurance Agency in Needham.

Mary Ann was a very devout member of the Congregational Church of Littleton, and a Memorial Service for her will be held there at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 20, followed by a reception in the Church hall. All are welcome to the service and reception. The Church is located at 330 King St, Littleton. Burial services in the Newton Cemetery will be private; there are no calling hours.
