OBITUARY: Lucille “Lucy” R. Zwicker

Lucille “Lucy” R. Zwicker, of Milford, NH, passed away peacefully at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Nashua, NH on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the age of 91.

Lucy was born on February 1, 1925 in Salmon Falls Village, Rollinsford, NH, one of five children of the late John and Rose (Bouffard) Levasseur, and was raised in Reading, MA. On August 29, 1948, she married her sweetheart, Melburn “Mel” C. Zwicker and they had four children together. In 1960, Lucy and her family moved from Reading to West Groton, MA where they made their home and raised their family.

Lucy was a devoted and loving mother, wife, “Nana” and homemaker. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family who meant the world to her. She always made sure that family and friends spent time with each other and would have parties, family gatherings and Sunday dinners to make sure that the family was always together. She loved to entertain, cook and bake for her family, friends and relatives. She created many memories and traditions, too numerous to mention, that will be carried on by her family for many years to come.

Lucy is survived by her sons, Michael Zwicker and wife Terri, David Zwicker and partner Trish Bulka; her daughter, Lucianne and husband Mark Fitzpatrick; seven grandchildren, Shawn Zwicker, Alicia Remillard and husband Bob, Zachary Zwicker and partner Lisa Cote, Nicholas Zwicker and fiancé Sophia Nguyen, Katie Dufour and husband Dan, Jennie Lagasse and partner Jeff Cate and Thomas Fitzpatrick; five great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Halle Remillard, Kalyn Woodbury, Madison Dufour and Madison Zwicker; her sister, Loretta Cibulski; her lifelong friend, Phyllis Cibulski, her close friend, whom she referred to as her adopted daughter, Debra Schultz and many friends from her residence of Linsey Landing in Milford, NH with whom she spent her last years with and called family and home; her dear friends and helpers from Seniors Helping Seniors, Bonnie and Joyce, as well as her beloved cat, “Kitty”. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mel Zwicker, whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage with prior to his death in 1998; her son, Melburn “Rick” Zwicker, Jr.; her sister, Thelma Coulter; and her brothers, Richard and Robert Levasseur.
