OBITUARY: Eilleen M. (Jones) (Duffy) Simmons

Eilleen M. (Jones) (Duffy) Simmons passed away peacefully May 2, 2016 at her home with family at her side. Eilleen was born in Boston March 10, 1928, daughter of the late John J. and Lillian (Sweet) Jones. Eilleen was a long time resident of Groton and an active member of Our Lady of Grace Parish. She participated in many organizations including Legion of Mary, First Communion instructor, RCIA instructor, Respect Life Group, Eucharistic Minister, Girl Scout leader, Women’s Club, Hospice volunteer, Legion Auxiliary Senior Center volunteer, and Mountain Lakes Club.

She was a loving mother to seven daughters and their spouses, Eileen Monat, Mia Benett and her husband Denny, Peggy Duffy, Pattie (P.K.) Simmons-Mavilia and her late husband Frank, Sr., Linda and her husband Frank Mavilia, Jr., Theresa and her husband Ed Chase and Jane and her husband Rob Cutts. She was known lovingly as “Ming” by her 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Eilleen was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Duffy, her second husband, Roger Simmons and her granddaughter Gina (Duffy) Silva. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Visiting Hrs. Thursday, May 5, 5-8 PM at the Badger Funeral Home 45 School St., Groton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, May 6, 10 AM at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshipping at St. Joseph’s Church 28 Tarbell St. Pepperell. Burial will be in Groton, Cemetery.
