Obituary: Brian Edward Johnson

Brian Edward Johnson, formerly of Groton, died in his sleep at his home in Manchester, NH on December 20, 2015 from a blood clot.

Brian was born in Nashua, NH on May 25, 1965. He graduated from Groton-Dunstable Regional High School in 1983 and attended UMASS Dartmouth and New England School of Art and Design. He was an accomplished graphic designer who worked for Spectrum Marketing in Manchester, NH for many years.

Brian's mastery of graphics software made him a problem solver for complex pre-press files, and his irreverent sense of humor and encyclopedic knowledge of trivia delighted his co-workers.

Brain loved the Red Sox, the Patriots, mystery novels, comic books and an unusually wide range of music. He believed this was a great time to be alive because of the current popularity of super-hero movies. He said it was his childhood dream.

Brian's best friend and roommate was his Quaker parrot, Parker Tiberius Bird. Parker was perched on Brian's shoulder whenever they were home together, and they spent summer evenings together outside on the balcony sharing popsicles. Brian loved recording Parker's antics and sharing them with his friends.

He is survived by his parents, Karl and Christina (Lucier) Johnson; his sister, Kelly-Anne Johnson; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Michelle Johnson; his nieces, Elizabeth and Annabelle Johnson; great-nieces Rylee Johnson and Ava Marie Castagno; and great-nephews, Jameson Willard and Deven Stone.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Lyle and Katy Lucier; his aunt and uncle, Barbara and Steve Kibby; his uncles, Lyle Lucier II and Kelley Johnson; his aunt, Kristin Schofield, his aunt and uncle, Katrin and Mark Armstrong; and numerous cousins. Brian will be greatly missed by his many friends - particularly his lifelong friend, John Heidema.

Per his request, Brian was cremated, and there will be no funeral. A celebration of his life will be held in early April at his favorite place, the Annabelle Johnson Preserve on Federal Hill Road in Hollis, NH.
