Police Solve Whitney Pond Road B&E

On May 2, 2020, the Groton Police Department responded to Whitney Pond Road for a report of a past breaking and entering. The property owner reported that when they came by the cottage, they found the door to the enclosed porch open and the screen cut. Upon inspection of the home, the homeowner noticed a number of items missing from the cottage, furniture disturbed, and it appeared that someone had spent time in the home. Detectives were called to the scene.
     The detectives began investigating the crime, gathering evidence from the scene and watching the home. On May 14, 2020, based on evidence received from the investigation, Detectives spoke with a suspect. During the interview, the suspect admitted to breaking into the home and taking items that they liked and planned to use said items in their own home.
     All items that were missing were recovered, and the suspect was charged with the following criminal charges:
• B&E into a Building for a Felony
• B&E into a Building for a Felony
• Larceny from a Building
     The subject will be arraigned at Ayer District Court at a later date for the above charges.
