POLICE: Chief Palma's Contract Renewed Amid Praise for His Leadership

Amid praise for outstanding performance and excellent management of the Police Department, the Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to renew Chief Donald Palma's employment contract for the next three years.

The contract calls for a four percent raise and an additional week of vacation. Chief Palma has served as department leader for the past six years.

Selectmen Chairman Stuart Schulman said, "He has done a great job with the public and with the police force. His department is well managed and he is an outstanding Police Chief." Colleague Anna Eliot added that he is responsible for a "vast improvement in the police force."

Selectman Josh Degen added, "He has done an outstanding job as Chief and his department has a good sense of camaraderie among its members."
