NEWS: Review of Decision To Prohibit Herbicide Treatment at Baddacook Pond Possible [with video]

Based on the recent Groton Water Department Commissioners decision to prohibit use of a herbicide to clear weed infestation from Baddacook Pond because it is a key source for the town water supply in Baddacook Well, and the angst expressed by residents who view the pond as a key recreational area, Town Manager Mark Haddad suggested that the Water Commissioners and the Great Ponds Committee meet with the Board to discuss the decision.

Selectman Chairman Peter Cunningham asked that before such a meeting, he would like background information and to understand what the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations are for such a proposal.
