Thanks to the sponsorship of local area businesses, Prescott will be opening a new Groton Visitors Center on its premises in January and is creating a 2020 Groton Map for distribution at this Center and at all participating sponsors’ locations. The Visitors Center will distribute this Map and other specialized maps of the area, along with informational materials from sponsors and non- profits.
Annual sponsorship of the Visitors Center helps pay for the rental space at Prescott, and for the creation of the map. Deluxe Corporation is printing, free of charge, 5,000 of these 15”x20” maps that will add up to postive marketing for all involved plus provide essential information to visitors and newcomers.
The Prescott map makers have consulted with the Groton HistoryCenter’s Joshua Volmar for key historic buildings and landmarks that must be included. Also, the Public Information Officer of Concord MA is consulting the designers to create a Main Street Walking Tour, and a larger map for all areas in Groton.
According to Holly Varney of the Groton Inn, they are looking forward to the maps delivery, set for mid-January 2020. It will assist them and other businesses when people ask “what is there to do in Groton” and “where is it?”
Current sponsors of the map include: Deluxe Corporation; The Groton Inn, Forge and Vine; Moison Ace Hardware; Worker’s Credit Union; Platt Builders; Body, Mind and Spirit; EXIT Realty; Blood Farm; Breen Dentistry; Bruno’s Pizza; Carvers Guild; Facets; Gibbet Hill Grill. Groton Market; Johnson’s Drive-In; and Lavender.
Businesses who would like to sponsor Prescott’s effort and get themselves “on the map” will have until December 10th to contact a
representative at 978 877 6933 or email@example.com. After that date, the 2020 Groton Map goes to press. All sponsors will be recognized in the 2020
Winter/Spring Prescott School Community Center catalog, set to reach all Groton homes January 3.
