New Council on Aging Director to Start at Senior Center May 1

Kathy Shelp, of Nashua, NH, has been named Groton's new Council on Aging Director following an extensive search to replace retiring Director Martha Campbell, who ends her many years of service to Groton in May.

Selected from a pool of 40 applications and interviews of nine finalists, Shelp was the unanimous choice of the search committee, including members of the Council on Aging, Town Manager Mark Haddad and Human Resource Director Suzanne Loverin.

Shelp served seniors for 12 years at the Johnson City Senior Center in New York - six years as the Assistant Director and six years as the Executive Director, She was recently the Traditional Care Director at Nashua Crossings Senior Living. She will start new position at the Groton Senior Center May 1.
