"How Pathetic!:" Groton Charter Is Still Not Approved

by Connie Sartini

Clearly frustrated by the lack of progress in finalizing approval by the Legislature of the Town of Groton’s updated Charter, the Select Board has asked Town Manager Mark Haddad to invite State Representative Shelia Harrington to come to a Board meeting and explain what the process is for approval.
Selectman Josh Degen pointed out that this “process is pathetic.” Approval for the updated Town Charter has been hanging for well over two years since its submission to the Legislature with no end in sight.
The Board is hoping to get some answers from State Representative Harrington.
