House Budget Would Reduce Groton's State Aid

Town Manager Mark Haddad advised Selectmen at their May 6 meeting that the House of Representatives proposed budget would result in Groton's receiving $817,656 from the state, which is $20K less than last year. "If the House budget passes," Haddad said, "We will be $562K under the levy limit and the tax rate would drop by three cents per thousand."
