Trivia for Education

Dear Editor,

Thanks to support from our community, the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation has completed another successful winter season of Trivia events, including three Trivia Nights at the Main Street Café, and our recent Kids Trivia for Middle School students on the half-day.

First, we'd like to express our sincere gratitude to Bob and Carolyn Wright of the Main Street Café for their continued generous support and hospitality, hosting Trivia Nights for the third consecutive year and treating our guests to delicious home-cooking in a warm, neighborly atmosphere. DJ Bob also emceed all four events, entertaining our guests with his lively wit and keeping the mood fun and friendly.

Next, we want to thank all the wonderful area businesses who donated fun prizes for our winning teams. We hope you'll thank them for supporting public education by patronizing their businesses: Acton Bowladrome; Angela's Coal Fired Pizza, Tyngsboro; Bailey's Bar & Grille, Townsend; Blackbird Café, Groton; Burton's Grill, Westford; Costco Wholesale, Nashua; Dolce Wood Fired Italian Grill, Pepperell; Dunkin Donuts, Groton; Greco Graphics, Groton; Ixtapa Cantina Mexican Restaurant, Groton & Leominster; Lazer Craze, Andover & Woburn; Lucia's Tavola, Ayer; MRM Associates, Realtors; Smokey Bones, Tyngsboro; Trader Joe's, Nashua; and Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, New Hampshire.

Finally, thank you to all the terrific guests who supported the Trivia fundraisers and to the local press for all their help with publicity: The Groton Herald, Groton Landmark, the Groton Line, and the Groton Channel. Thanks also to district administrators for helping us promote these events to school families.

GDEF looks forward to our spring grants cycle, where money raised from Trivia, fall's Octoberfest 5K, and our ongoing Annual Giving Campaign, will fund classroom enrichment grants to teachers and staff in all five, district schools. Grant applications are due March 29, with grants announced in early May, followed by our Spring Grants Celebration on May 23. Donations to Annual Giving are still welcomed. Sincerely,

Sarah Eisenklam, Fundraising Director
