Many Community Members Entered Virtual Classrooms to Work with Students

The closure of the school district on March 13 certainly turned the teaching world upside down. For the first three weeks, we held daily video conferences with students and offered them a range of activities to keep them engaged as we waited for further instructions from the state.
At the beginning of April, the state announced schools would be closed for the remainder of the year. On April 6, we officially transitioned to remote learning and began advancing the curriculum. During the next ten weeks of remote learning, the outpouring of community support was overwhelming. So many members of our community entered our virtual classrooms to work with our students. We are so thankful for everyone’s dedication to enriching the remote learning experience of Swallow Union 4th graders. The African proverb is so true - It takes a village to raise a child.
