LETTER:'Threatening Comments' Need Public Apology From Board of Selectmen
Dear Editor:
The following are the opinions of person who has had no training in Psychology and are personal opinions.
If the comments attributed to some members of the Board of Selectmen toward representatives of the Groton Electric Light Department are accurate, these comments were not only unprofessional but could be considered threatening and an abuse of power. No person in a position of authority and power should ever respond to a reasoned and appropriate presentation by a person representing themselves or a company with comments like "suck it up" or "stop whining".
These comments could be considered threatening to anyone seeking approvals from the Board of Selectmen. To date I have not seen or heard a public apology for these comments and an assurance that those who seek an action in front of the Board will be treated with all due respect and professional consideration.
This is not a situation where we agree to disagree. There should be, in my opinion, a very public apology.
Sincerely,
Rule Loving
