Letter: What, Exactly, Was Approved in Article 10 at Town Meeting?

To The Editor:

On Monday night, Article 9, the proposal to purchase land next to the fire station for the construction of a Senior Center, was voted down. Article 10, a motion to appropriate $400,000 for the purpose of designing a new Senior Center, was approved subject to the Town approving a Proposition 2 1/2 Debt Exclusion for the funds when we vote on 5/16.

My questions are, what is being designed and for what location and, is it for new construction or renovation? Please vote NO on allowing this funding to proceed until we get these questions answered. The voters deserve more information before we commit to further funding of this project.
