LETTER: An Uncanny Ability To Always Make Sure People Feel Heard

I am writing this letter to express my sincere and passionate endorsement of Peter Cunningham as a “Write-In” candidate for Groton Select Board.
I have known Peter Cunningham for over twenty years as a friend and on a professional level over the last 10 years. As a person, Peter is kind, insightful, pro- active, passionate on issues and compassionate to everyone he meets. I feel that these qualities make Peter Cunningham a superb candidate for our Groton Select Board.
Over the years, Peter and I have shared our thoughts on many subjects. What has impressed me so much during our discussions is, not only his insight, but his compassion for families in difficult situations. This compassion is coupled with Peter’s uncanny ability to always make sure that people feel heard. When someone takes on a role in public service, it is vital that they are willing to listen to everyone they serve! There is no room for partisanship when serving on the Select Board. Peter puts the interests of the people he serves over any personal agenda.
Peter served this community so well for so many years. As a State Representative, I can assure you that no select board member I have encountered in the last 10 years has been more proactive in advocating at the State level for seniors, first responders, conservation concerns and, of course, our rail trails (1 existing and 1 opening soon!) He is always willing to roll up his sleeves and do the work necessary to make things happen!
Peter’s passionate advocacy, non-partisan leadership and his kind and compassionate personality make Peter the ideal candidate for this position and I encourage everyone in Groton to “Write-In” Peter Cunningham for this important role. He truly will serve everyone in Groton.
