LETTER: Crayons for Ethiopia
To The Editor,
Thank you for the story in the November 1 edition of the Groton Herald about Torrin Osenar and his project to collect and then send crayons to children in Ethiopia.
Torin's story is a great example of how one person, even a young child, can make a big difference. As a parent whose child attends Oak Meadow in Littleton, I feel Montessori is a great method of schooling for children to joyfully learn leadership, responsibility, self discipline, initiative, strong academics and a lifetime love of learning. The school encourages children to be globally aware and caring citizens of a much larger world community.
Torin is one example of many. His Crayons4Ethiopia donation box is located in the Oak Meadow School lobby at 2 Old Pickard Lane. I hope families stop by the school to donate their used/extra crayons for the children in Ethiopia, and visit a classroom or take a tour while they're there to see firsthand what an amazing school it is.
