How To Fix Town Meeting
Dear Editor:
After watching the Town Meeting Study Committee on TV last week, we have come to one conclusion. The voters want to sit home and watch the town meeting on TV and vote by telephone. It's the in-thing to do. This would solve the disabled problem. Most people have phones and TVs. Today we think the administration should approach the legislature about changing the law. To enable this to happen, attendance at town meeting would be much improved. There would be no need for babysitters, or food in the auditorium. We think this would solve many problems. Any citizen petitions or amendments to an Article would have to be filed in advance. Also, we think absentee ballots should be used.
Call your selectman. Let's get the ball rolling.
