Fitch's Bridge Dedication Ceremony
Dear Editor:
Groton Greenway Committee cordially invites the public to a grand opening dedication ceremony of the newly installed Fitch's Bridge, Sunday, Sept. 15, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Fitch's Bridge.
Speakers at the event to include State Senator Eileen Donoghue, Representative Sheila Harrington, Peter Cunningham, Mark Haddad, David Manugian and Marion Stoddart. Music will be provided by John Wiesner including members of the Pebbled Bottom River Kids. Light refreshments will be served.
It would be wonderful if you were able to carpool or walk/bike to the event. If driving please park on Wallace Road facing out. There will be limited handicap parking spaces on Pepperell Road and on Fitch's Bridge Road.
If hiking or biking to the event, you may wish to join members of Groton Trails Committee on one of two guided tours, a guided hike from the Hayes Woods Trailhead on Maple St. through the Johnston Parcel to the newly constructed Fitch's Bridge, or a guided bike tour from Groton Senior Center following Spencer Circle Road and the trail from Hill St. to the Fitch's Bridge.
Both the Hike and the Bike are family friendly and will take about a half an hour on easy, forested terrain. Both guided trips will start promptly at noon.
We look forward to celebrating this great new addition to town with everyone.
Groton Greenway Committee
