Fire Task Force Member Takes Issue With Groton Herald Story

Dear Editor:

I read the front page of the Groton Herald this past Friday about the Fire Department Task Force’s “paralysis by analysis” and I was initially angry at the Select Board for it’s complete lack of ownership of their role in the committee’s charge.

This article would have you believe that the Select Board spent the discussion criticizing the competency and progress of the committee.  What meeting was the Herald’s reporter watching?! It seems the reporter only heard what they wanted to hear.

As a member of the task force and having viewed the video of the discussion, I am very concerned about whose agenda she is trying push forth.  The article was not an objective representation of the conversation that happened on Monday and cherry picks only those points that can be interpreted as inflammatory against the task force.

If this is the best that the Groton Herald has to offer, we should all be concerned about what other untruths are perpetuated by the paper.

An Hee Foley,

Member Fire Department Task Force Study Committee
