Don’t Miss Holiday Market At Williams Barn For Special Gift Ideas

To The Editor,

Are you already missing the absence of the weekly Farmers’ Markets in our local communities? Wishing you could have fresh local produce for Thanksgiving?  Want to get a head start on your Christmas list?

Take advantage of the Holiday Market held at Williams’ Barn at 160 Chicopee Row in Groton. This year the Holiday Market is open from 10-2 on Saturday, November 17th. Come meet our local farmers and get fresh vegetables and fruits for the holidays while you support your neighbors, help protect open space, and benefit the environment.

If you haven’t bought farm fresh food before, you are in for a treat. The food tastes better and lasts much longer. Winter squash and potatoes bought in November and stored in a cool, dry place can last till spring. Plenty of apples and other fruits for pies, and local honey and jams make great gifts. Or buy your holiday pies already made for you.

There will be vendors with homemade crafts that will get you a head start on your Christmas gift list. And take a chance (or 2 or 20) on the Brad Smith Memorial Scholarship raffle where you can win local products/gift certificates. You might even win the grand prize—a big basket with something from all the vendors. There will be live music and a light lunch available. Make this part of your holiday tradition.
