Do Small Things To Counteract Irrational Fear

While we do all we can to keep from contracting the coronavirus, I think we must be careful to keep from contracting anxiety and prejudice toward Asians. Many Chinese restaurants in China town are empty. Asian markets are experiencing minimal business.
I urge all of us to consider buying lunch or dinner from the Mandarin and Thai restaurant, The Main House, on Main Street in Groton. We can go out of our way to shop in an Asian market. We can choose Asian restaurants when doing out for dinner. It’s one small thing we can do, one small amount of money we can spend to help an Asian business stay in business.
We can only do small things to counteract the irrational fear and rhetoric exploding all around us. And that one small thing matters.

Sincerely,
Barbara J. Rich
