Credit For Stopping The Pipeline Belongs To Determined Citizens

I am writing in response to claims made in two recent Letters to the Editor in support of Sheila Harrington for State Representative.
The letter writers asserted that Rep. Harrington played an active role in keeping the Kinder Morgan Pipeline out of the district.
Having been integrally involved with locally-based efforts to stop the pipeline, I can assure you that Rep. Harrington did not actively participate in preventing the project. Instead, her position was that all we could do would be to mitigate the impact of the inevitable installation of the pipeline.
All the credit for stopping the pipeline belongs to a group of dedicated and determined citizens from Groton and surrounding towns. It was their work that prevented the pipeline from being built.
