ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROJECT:
Groton Water Department

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The proposed project consists of installation of a 0.540 mgd public water supply groundwater well and associated pumping facilities. The purpose of the project is to provide needed redundancy and capacity for the Town of Groton’s public water system.
LOCATION: 864 Lowell Rd. Groton, MA 01450
PROPONENT: Town of Groton Water Department (Tom Orcutt, Superintendent, 173 Main St, Groton MA 01450)
The undersigned is submitting an Environmental Notification Form ("ENF") to the Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs on or before December 15, 2021.
     This will initiate review of the above project pursuant to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act("MEPA",M.G.L.c. 30, s.s. 61-62I).

Electronic copies of the ENF are being sent to the Conservation Commission, Planning Board, and Water Department of Groton, MA (Municipality).
     The Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs will publish notice of the ENF in the Environmental Monitor, will receive public comments on the project for 20 days, and will then decide, within ten days, if an Environmental Impact Report is needed. A site visit and/or remote co                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   sultation session on the project may also be scheduled. All per- sons wishing to comment on the project, or to be notified of a site visit and/or remote consultation session, should email MEPA- @mass.gov. Mail correspon- dence will continue to be ac- cepted, though responses may be delayed. Mail correspondence should be direct to the Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs, 100 Cambridge St., Suite 900, Boston, Massachusetts 02114, Attention: MEPA Office, referencing the above project.
NOTE: For this project, the Proponent is also submitting an Application for MassDEP’s Wa- ter Management Act Program (BRP WM03, Request to With- draw water over 100,000 gallons per day annually from a watershed) on or before December 17, 2021. A copy of the BRP WM03 Appli- cation may be obtained from the Proponent or Comprehensive Environmental (Contact info listed above).
