Town of Shirley Seeks Bids for Guard Rail Improvement

The Town of Shirley invites contractors to submit sealed bids in accordance with M.G.L. C.30, § 39M for the following IFB: “Main Street Guardrail Improvement Project at Catacunemaug Brook” to include the following services.

The Town of Shirley invites contractors to submit sealed bids in accordance with M.G.L. C.30, § 39M for the following IFB: “Main Street Guardrail Improvement Project at Catacunemaug Brook” to include the following services:
Reconstruction of the northwest retaining wall and stabilization of the soil at the base; construction of a new crash-complaint bridge rail on both sides of the bridge; reconstruction of the sidewalks in the vicinity of the bridge including the existing curb cut northwest of the bridge; catch basin installation or adjustments as necessary to direct runoff away from erodible soils; installation of new ADA/AAB-compliant sidewalk ramps and minor roadway re-grading and repaving.
Specifications for the work are contained in Information for Bidder (IFB) packet and may be obtained at the Office of the Board of Selectmen, Shirley Town Offices, 7 Keady Way, Shirley, MA 01464 between 9 AM and 4 PM Monday through Thursday.
Massachusetts DOT pre-qualification certification is required for this project as indicated in the IFB and by MassDOT. Prevailing Wage Laws apply where applicable.
Sealed bids shall be submitted to the Office of the Board of Selectmen, Shirley Town Offices, 7 Keady Way, Shirley, MA 01464 and clearly marked: “Main Street Guardrail Improvement Project at Catacunemaug Brook” Bids will be received not later than 10:45 AM on February 1, 2017.
Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 11:00 AM. All bids must be submitted in the format provided in the bid package. If the bid is mailed, the sealed bid must be enclosed in a second, sealed envelope for delivery. Any failure to properly enclose and mark envelopes resulting in an inadvertent opening of a bid shall be borne solely by the bidder and will result in the disqualification of the bid. Any bids received after the deadline will be sent back unopened.
